Lake Tahoe '10

Rebecca and Greg invited us to come to Lake Tahoe again this past summer. It was a wonderful vacation! We stayed for a week, then Porter and Rusty flew home for work and scout camp, while the rest of us went back to Folsom to stay at the Petersen's home for one more week. Greg took us out boating twice. So fun! Our kids have only been tubing or knee boarding a couple of times so this is a real treat!
Marsh and Petersen kids
Blake, Cece and Jesse
Girls: MJ, Cece, Ellie and Chloe
This place is so beautiful.  We were so spoiled to go there and stay in Greg's mom house with our private beach access.
We brought some tube play things and they were well used.  There go the 3 little girls with Chloe trailing them.
Porter and Chloe are trying to get into the chilly water.  It is plenty warm there at our spot in Lake Tahoe, but not too warm, and the lake really never gets warm.  It is always a shock to get in the water.
Blake digs.
Rusty and Greg were there the whole week!  Wow!  I think this was one of my most fun vacations, ok summers really.  Cause Rusty got to come on several of our trips, including this one!  We were all so happy!
Porter and Rusty relax on our little stretch of beach.
Jesse spent hours throwing this frisby to whoever he could get to play.  We all took our turns with this cute little guy!  Ren especially, as you can see below.  After being hit one too many times, we finally gave Jess a water ball.  Then we all took turns playing that with him!  He was really quite good at both.  (I was especially impressed with his frisby skills.  I'm 35 and still haven't mastered how to throw that straight!)

Taking in a bit of sun.
Not only did we have a fabulous beach at our whim, but a huge backyard play area!  Thus the kickball game!
Cece and Ren get ready to take a ride.
Could this golf cart possibly handle one more?  I don't think so!  The kids constantly wanted rides.  Greg even took them golf ball hunting at dark, the boys especially loved this for some reason!  (Porter still has a large plastic bag full of balls from those outings.)
Porter finds the golden ball!  I wonder how much it's worth!?
Blake and Ren are ready to do some water sports.
After the week at the lake, back in Folsom, some reality set in.  But we still had a great time together.  Bec took me to a 'Bachelorette' finale party with her friends.  I had a really good, despite not knowing many of them.  We also went to dinner once with her friends.
Cecilee, MJ and Ellie brought their mermaid dolls on the boat and pretty much everytime we got in any water.
All the kids had a nice look out with the wind in their faces at the front of the boat.  This was place all the kids wanted to sit.
Rusty and Ren lounge with the cool breeze in their hair.  It was pretty warm up in Folsom, as you can imagine.  But the lake was awesome for cooling off...maybe a little too cool!
The tube was uberfun!  The kids were able to stay on this tube...most of the time!  There were a few 'flings' where said kids went flying off.  Greg tried to give them a good ride, with no inguries.  :)  There were handsignals to indicate who wanted faster, slower, stop and others.  Little Jesse was constantly doing the crazy signal to do jumps!  Chloe's was faster.  Personalities come through, some want a more conservative ride, like Ellie and MJ, while Chloe and all the Petersen kids wanted wild rides!
There is Chloe again...faster!  And Jesse is doing the circles sign, for jumps in the wakes.  MJ is holding on for dear life, while Blake is chillin' in the back.
Ren is there in the middle.  We barely got him on that, so Greg went easy on them when Ren was on. ;)
Are you ready?!  MJ, Cece, Ellie, Ren and Jesse get prepped!
Rusty even got a ride, in fact, I think this was Ren's first time...
Ren and Blake take a break to rest on the boat.
Jesse knee boarding
Cece knee boarding
MJ kneeboarding, we had to bribe her onto it.  None of our others kids would.  Leave it to MJ to give almost anything a try though.  She cried the whole time.  Her face isn't real clear, but she was not screaming for fun, but for fear!
More tube!
Splish Splash!

Cooling off
Chloe
One more dip before the day is done...obviously I need to find out how to do movement shots with my camera.  I thought these were still fun, though they aren't very clear.
Cece
Ellie
Don't know who that is...your guess is as good as mine?
The girls had a ball together!  They spent hours and hours doing each others hair, or their dolls hair.  They watched the american girl doll video on how to do several styles of hair.  (Hey, I even learned a lot from the video!  I highly recommend it if you have a daughter.)  As shown by these photos, literally a whole day was spent being hawaiian.  They wore these outfits all day and watched a video on how to dance, including hula and others.  I thoroughly enjoyed watching them.  (Cece had a birthday party with a hawaiian theme, thus all the paraphernalia.)
Cecilee dances...notice the 'Be a Hula Girl' titled video in the background.  Too cute!
MJ shows her stuff.  She got a little shy sometimes when the camera was on her.  :)
Ellie doing part of the dance where you click your shells together.  Serious stuff. :)
Hula girls
Reach for it...
Click click
Then its a free for all.  Ren joins the dance, formation is broken...so fun!
Man, these kids are cute!
Oh, this is Rus and me still up in Tahoe.
